Donner Party: Did They or Didn't They? (huffingtonpost.com)

Interesting revelations regarding the Donner Party myth.  Scientists have found no physical evidence of cannibalism.  DON'T WORRY!  That doesn't mean they didn't eat each other.  I know my worldview would be shattered if this turned out to be the case.  We need this mythos or there would be no way outside of Jeffrey Dahmer for the average American to relate to eating people.  Pioneers, crossing the Rockies in covered wagon, snowed-in and ultimately succumbing to the lures of cannibalism. What could be a more American experience?
